Q) What are activity days?
A) Activity days are a range of outdoor and indoor activities which include Stand Up Paddleboarding (SUP), indoor climbing and powerkiting. The day’s activities start at 10am through to 4pm including lunch. Occasionally we start the day’s activities earlier, dependent upon high tide times, but will let you know beforehand. Depending on the weather, we will do two of the three activities during the day and each activity lasts for 2 – 2.5 hours. In between activities we will break for a buffet lunch by the riverside, at The Bridge pub.
Q) What do I need to bring?
A) All equipment is provided – wetsuits, buoyancy aids, boards, paddles, harnesses are all supplied. All you have to bring is wetsuit shoes or old trainers, sun cream, water and sunglasses and you will have a great day!!
Q) What do I wear?
Suitable clothing for inside and outside conditions –
Indoor Climbing: loose, comfortable clothing and pair of trainers
SUPing/powerkiting: We provide the wetsuit – just bring wetsuit shoes or old trainers you don’t mind getting wet!
Q) Where do we meet and do I need a car to get between locations?
A) We start at 10am at the Adur Outdoor Activities Centre in Shoreham-by-Sea. The centre is 15 minutes walk from the mainline train station. Regular trains come directly from Victoria, Brighton and Portsmouth. Buses from Brighton and Worthing stop in Shoreham High Street which is 5 minutes walk to the centre.
Q) What’s included in the price?
A) Included in the price is:
Hire of all equipment including wetsuits, buoyancy aids, Stand Up Paddleboards, paddles, kites, harnesses.
Two x 2 1/2hour activities on the day
Q) What’s not included?
A) You just need to bring wetsuit shoes or old trainers for going into the water.
Q) When do the activity days run?
A) Every Saturday from April –October, 10am – 4pm. We can also run activity days for groups of up to twelve people on any week day on request.
Q) How much are the activity days and what happens if the weather is not so good?
A) The activity days are £100 per person including lunch. Weather dependent, we will be indoor climbing in the morning and then either Stand Up Paddleboarding or powerkiting after lunch – we go ahead whatever the weather throws at us!!
